Pokemon Tales

'Pokemon Tales' are a series of children's picture books published by Shogakukan in Japan between 1997 and 2000. There were 48 books in the original series plus two ‘Special’ releases which tied in with the first two Pokemon movies; one in 1998 and the other in 1999. These books have become highly collectible as they were illustrated by a few artists, most of whom shortly thereafter began illustrating for the TCG, and whom are still illustrating for the Pokemon franchise to this day.

There were three subsequent series: Pokemon Gold and Silver Tales (2001-2002), Pokemon Exciting Tales (2003), and Pokemon Daisuki Tales (2005-2012).
